I think they were originally on the VL Turbos and cop spec BT1 (pursuit vehicals). They are 15" over the standard 80's commodore 14". For the VL turbos it was necissary to fit these wheels 'cos the brakes were bigger and it gave a lower profile for handling. If you look under the hubcaps on any commodore and ford since the late 80's you'll find interceptor rims. I think it's just that bogans drive cars that are so rooted that all four hubcaps are missing. Also, they retail for about $20 bucks a rim 'cos lots of people chuck 'em when they get mags on they're new car.
