4ac's are tough. the car i learned to drive in (ae82) had a 4ac and a really hard life. had a blown head gasket when we bought it. i drove it to school every day flogging the hell out of it, never changed oil, eventually the oil light came on and i just kept flogging it, i had the valves bouncing on numerous times while doing burnouts. one day it overheated so i took the thermostat out and flogged it some more. had it for a couple of years then my brother had it, then his friend had it. all the time with a blown head gasket what a champion motor.
