I put on the Application for modifications that included anything I'd thought of, including the wheels, the 5-stud conversion and the brakes. They said I needed to see an engineer regarding the engine, the brakes and the seating.

The letter I got back from the DPI instructed me to get a consultants report for the following things:
1) Fitment and suitability of the Toyota 1GGTE in the Celica (when will they acknowledge my car) bodyshell with regards to Mass, Power and Emissions.
-From what I gather, WA doesn't really have any strict emissions regulations, so provided I'm using the factory ECU and have a catalytic converter all should be good. I think the engineer will just drive it to make sure the support systems are up to the task. He may want to get it weighed, I gave an approximate figure, probably a bit low so we'll see.

The next 2 were regarding the brakes, I spoke to the guy at the DPI afterwards and he said if you decide to not do any of the modifications thats fine, just get the engineer to inspect what you have.

I said about suspension, just newer shocks and Kings low springs (I said ~1.25" drop) and they didn't require an engineers report.

I haven't consulted an engineer yet, I've got the list of recommended ones from the DPI for when the time comes. I don't think they are as fussy with mine as they are of yours, as my engine is a variant of the factory one.
