think of it is as buffering the ECU signal, it will slightly slow the resonse of the MAP, but if you have a lumpy cam, it might actually help smooth out the signal.
personally, unless i had a problem with fluctuating MAP signal, i would use a seperate tube. but it may be no problem at all.. best would be to datalog the MAP signal with and without the gauge connected, and see what happens to the signal.
