your air intake already sounds pretty good.
regarding your cat, that's commonly known as "coring", and involves a large screwdriver and a mallet. it's illegal, a bit loud, and involves ruining a good piece of exhaust. if your car has bolts weither side of it, you can just unbolt it and core it.
if it doesn't, it'd be cheaper for you to pay an exhaust place to just remove the cat and weld in a piece of pipe
