Bored: the 1G and 1JZ are totally different engine designs, and the 1JZ is much bigger. Your main problem would be the length, as a 1JZ only just squeezes into an RA23 engine bay - and that's after removing the radiator! The TA22 engine bay is 3-4 inches shorter, so there's no way it's going to happen without moving the firewall (ie major structural modifications).
Helmann: have you ever seen a 1JZ? There is no way these engines are even remotely similar in size - the 1G is one of the most compact inline sixes around, but the 1JZ is huge! Also, the JZ engines have a cast iron block - only the cylinder head is aluminium alloy. This means the 1JZ is significantly heavier than the 1G. Where did you get your facts from??
As a few people have mentioned, putting any cast-iron six is only going to do bad things to the nimble handling of a TA22. The logical choice IMO is the 3T-GTE, as it practically bolts in and it's not much heavier than the original engine. These engines have the potential for plenty of power with a bit of work as well.
