yes, the carbies on the blue one are definately replcement ones, they are of an 18rgu.
You've probably got the whole manifold set from a 88251 or something like that.
The dead spot is almost certainly be from the accelleration pumps. The new carbies have really poorly set up accelleration pumps. You'll need to take out the split pin on the pump push rods and stick about four small machine washers under the existing washer on each carbie to make them work.
add or remove a washer until the pumps spray for 1.1 seconds (.8 is not enough), the more washers, the less time it sprays for.
(there is room for adjustment of the accelleration pumps made into the design of the carbie, but that takes f@*cking ages to get right and is really fiddly.
Give this a go and see how it works, RA28 midge was recently told by a "expert" on these engines to get his carbies rebuilt because the accelleration pumps didn't work, this is the problem he had, and no amount of rebuilding would have fixed that, but five munutes and eight machine washers later, they were working better than they ever had.
