Ok, I have some questions for ya:

If you accelerate slowly, would you lose *considerably* less petrol than if you accelerated fast all the time? I'ma cheapskate afterall...

You must accelerate fast all the time!! This the only way in Australia!
Quote:

When you turn the key *all the way* to start the engine, what is happening if you hold it there, as opposed to letting it returning to the normal position? What about when the engine's already running and you turn the key all the way? I've tried it before, didn't sound too good...

What is happening is exactly what it sounds like! The teeth on the starter and flywheel are slowly being ground away!

Quote:

If you park your car with the wheels turn to one side - will anything negative come from it over the long term?

Parking with the wheels parerral with the car is for a saftey reason. If your car gets hit from behind it wont go up the footpath and hit someone.

Quote:

When you are driving on the 'D' position (auto tranny) and then change to the 'R' position while the car is *still moving forward*, is that bad for the car? What about when you change to other positions such as 'N', '2', 'L' and 'P' while the car is still moving??

This depends on your car/gearbox!

Quote:

I noticed that while waiting at intersections the car is rumbling, so i move the 'stick' to the 'N' position to keep the car quite - are there any other benefits such as less fuel consumption?

In most car "user guides" it says to put the car into the "N" position when stationary for longer than X amount of time!

Quote:

In terms of fuel efficiency, is it better to drive slowly or quickly while going *uphills*?

Why would you ever drive slow?

Quote:

Which kind of braking is best to preserve the brake pads - apply the brakes down slowly or more suddenly? Is it me or does gradual braking make more brake noise?

Sudden braking pisses people off mmmkay! So DONT ever do it!

Quote:

Should I buy premium unleaded instead of standard unleaded? If its cleaner and means less maintenance cost to the engine in the long time then I will.

Premium unleaded is the sweet stuff if your engine is tuned for it! If your engine isnt tuned, its still good.

This is Cool1's law and should be take as complete bullshit unless its correct!! Razz
