...plus, unless you o-ring both sides of the plate and the head/block, AND use copper gaskets you're probably going to blow the head gaskets out before reaching an exciting level of boost.

and even if you've got to all this expence (of o-ringing) you've then lifted the head up higher than expected so the cam chain may not have the links in the right spot for the cam gears (and no this is not why there's a cam chain tensioner)...

...and doubled the likely number of places where the head gasket will leak/fail.

but wait there's more ... even if you o-ringed the motor/head/plate - you're not going to get the same tension on the head bolts (as you've got the squish of two gaskets) so you'll either snap or strip the thread on a head stud/bolt overtightening it or not do it up tight enough (and then para three happens)

Unless you want to keep boost to sub 5psi, dump the plate and tell your mate he's a tosser.
