youre talking about the EGR? egr actually decreases combustion temperatures as it is considered 'dead space' in the chamber. you disconnect it, comb temps will go up (along with power) but your emissions will also go up

you can happily leave the carbon canister connected as it really does bugger all to the intake, but does recirculate and filter tank gas (i think)
