as a real easy start, look to see if there as a drain plug on the bottom of the radiator (like a stopcock).
if so, then open it and let all the shit drain out. (preferably onto grass??). if not, then pull off the bottom radiator hose connects to the radiator, and drain it out that way.
then refill with water, take the car for a drive, then drain.
keep doing that until the water comes out clear...
you can use 'radiator cleaner' but the stuff is usually caustic, and will eat away metal from somewhere (i guess)...
you can also pull the radiator out of the car, and fluch it using a hose.. again keep fluchin till the water comes out clear, and run the water in both directions...
once the water stays clean in the car for a drive or two, then drain out, fill with XX amount of ehtylene glycol (coolant concentrate) then top up with water....
i like abour 30% coolant to water, but some ppl like more or less..
