A front sump is a front sump, it doesn't really matter which type of engine it is. Keep in mind that a lot of Toyota cars have the option of a six or a V8, and so both need to have a sump to suit the crossmember on that vehicle - it's not like they're going to redesign the front end to suit the engine, it's much easier to do it the other way! So if you have a front-sump six in your car, a front-sump V8 will slot right in and the gearbox will line up in the same position.



Absolutely, 100% true...A fact to which my car will attest. (Only modification required to Drive-train was 30mm tail-shaft lengthening...and even that was more a function of where the engine was "positioned"; in other words, it could have been further back - as in the case of Darren's car - and the tailshaft would not have needed altering...)
