ok, that makes sense
but say the sump on the 8 for a certain vehicle is a front sump, and the rear of the engine is just shy of the firewall (as is the case in most), then wouldnt the 6 in the same car have a midmount sump, due to the fact that the engine is 2 cyls longer
(i am presuming here that the 1uz is a lot shorter than a 6m/1jz)
and in this case, the rear of the engine will still be just shy of the firewall and hence yes, the gbox will still line up perfectly
but in the case of a front sump on a 6 (ie a 6m in an mx73), and then putting a front sump 8 in the same place, wouldnt this move the rear of the motor forward but some amount, and hence the gbox will no longer line up?
does anyone actually know if the 1uz is shorter than a 6?
i would presume it is as it is only 4cyls long, and the size of each cyl is close to a 6m's
knowing this would solve a lot of problems
