Bang for buck, the 1G is going to be cheaper and more reliable. It would cost you more than a 1G cut to get an 18RG pushing out 15kw with the same reliability and drivability of a 1G.

The ta22 bay is shorter than the RA bays. It makes putting in a 1G a big challenge but I wouldn't hav thought a 3S would be any harder.

A TA22 is shorter and lighter than he RA23/28. All other things being equal it should provide for better agility. I think the RA front end was somewhat refined over the TA one though.
