There is a small variable resistor on the circuit board of the tacho. You (or an instrument store) can adjust this to calbrate it. I put a TA22 tacho into my Corona Mk2 and adjusted the varipot to give the correct rpm. I temoparily wired in another 6 cylinder tacho for calibration (I used a combined dwell angle meter/tacho actually).
