It has been a while since I looked myself Embarassed
Didnt think they were so close, sorry.

I know that the 18R has a fully floating gudgeon pin which means that the piston has groves for circlips and the small end of the conrod has a bronze(?) bush in it.

Are the 2T gudgeon pins press fit?

Even if they are, provided that gudgeon pin hole in the piston was EXACTLY the same between the 2T and 18R then there would be no problems in leaving the gudgeon pins as press fit and leaving out the circlips in the piston(not needed on press fit pins). This could be done as the gudgeon pins press fit into the rods and not the pistons.

If the 2T rods are already fully floating then it would only be a matter of using the right length gudgeon pin for the piston used.

If the 2T rods are press fit and you want to convert them to fully floating then you will need enough 'meat' around the small end to bore the small end oversize and press in a bush.

Does this answer the question?
