i did this in my ke55 it had a 4kc and traumatic i converted it to a 4kc and k50
i needed a new pedal box and clutch cable for the manual
the problem i found was that the gearbox crossmember for the auto - the holes were not in the same spot on the ke55 to use the ke55 manual trans gearbox.
if you look in a ke55 manual and ke55 auto the mounts are in different places. good old bill sherwoods site sorta shows this in his kp61 starlet page :

the things on the body were too far forward from memory - they needed to come back about 1" and it would have been fine.
what i did in my case was use a ke20 gearbox crossmember (filed holes out in the middle and put bolts through the rails into the cabin - this did the trick for me (albeit not ideal, it worked
the motor i used came out of a ke20 - the ke20 engine mounts were different they didn't fit in the ke55, but i used my ke55 mounts on the 4kc engine and they were fine.
i had to make the hole where the gearshift came thru inside the car a little bigger too (as the k50 shifter was pretty far back)
expensive the conversion was not. the motor and gearbox cost me $250 and a bit of time, thats all. hope this helps
