firstly dont use a cut polish combo, just useless for your problem.
get a good mothers/meguiars product like a fine/medium cut{dont pay less than $20}, for the best grade of cut ask the pro at the shop to have a look at your car, get a few of those cut pads {yellow things u sometimes get free with wax} completely wash the car PERFECTLY then make sure its bonedry, leave in full shade so car is cool/cold {they dont work good on hot bodies} then get some elbow grease into it wait till the wax is fully dry {only if it specifies, some say not to let it dry} then get some cheap shit terry towel from crazy clarks to get the cutting compound off, then apply the polish.
i did this on my VK, i was amazed at the colour the ACTUALLY was, i just did this on the corona too
