hmm, a little more complicated than that..
for my KE70 alternator, which is a 40amp one, i took out both the stator and rotor, and also the field diode assemble and brushes, out of an XF falcon 60A alt, and oput it into mine.
basically, you swap the front and rear housing onto the internal parts of the bigger alt, and then you have a higher ampage alternator, but with your original mountings.
is usually easy to find a higher rated Bosch part that will slip in, but maybe not for mitsu or others
