Somewhere in the net is accurate info on how to diy std distributor for twin carbs & hot cam.
In short: - std dizzy gives too wide band of advance variation - hot cam & twin carbs like only about 20 degrees of advance on top of idle advance - disassemble std dizzy, observe how to limit advance travel - install weaker springs to mechanical advance unit - set idle adv to about 13-15 degrees, and limit total max advance to about 34 degrees. - check with timing light & rev counter that total advance (= 34degrees) comes in at about 3500-3800rpm
This will give you very good starting point to start investigating what advance your engine likes and dislikes. If it knocks heavily under acceleration at certain rpm range - you have too much advance there.
