ST162 Alternator Q Sun, 05 October 2003 13:34 Go to previous message
Just wondering, does the alternator bolt directly onto the alternator bracket on an ST162?

Because I think mine has been changed (not sure why) and it has this other metal extension that bolts into the bracket and the alternator that extends it out further, and allows the alternator to move back and forth a bit, but these car's have a tensioner for that belt - so why would the alternator need to be moved around?

Not sure why this metal thing is there, and it looks pretty dodgy (my car's previous owner seems to be extremely crap).
