Hi Leigh,
With the car engine, ignition, accessories, alarm and everything else turned off, disconnect the positive battery cable from the battery. Turn your multimeter to Amps and attach one probe to the positive battery terminal and the other probe to the battery cable you disconnected. Any reading will indicate battery drain. You could expect a small amount of current for the clock. Turn on your alarm and see how much that increases the current. Your alarm booklet should tell you how much current it will draw in both the off state and the on state. If the current drawn is significantly more than the alarm should draw plus say 20ma for the clock, you have an electrical fault or short somewhere. If little or no current drawn, your battery cells are probably clagged and you need to get the battery checked out as others have indicated. Cheers.
