I've got a nice old classic triumph that I've been hotting up with a lot of trick bits. I fitted a new circular-lobe fast-road cam shaft recently but can't get the motor to run properly. It idles like a flatulent wasp and wont rev at all. I think I'm getting valve bounce.
Any help would be appreciated.

Ah, a common problem with those cams. Once you translate the instruction sheet from the original Sanskrit into something understandable (say, Inupiat, or perhaps Vietnamese), you'll see that you were supposed to remove the valve springs and replace them with small chunks of toffee (vanilla is recommended). The gerbils that are at the heart of any Spitfire engine are very fond of vanilla toffee.
In the meantime, you might try removing the oil pump. It won't fix the cam issue...but you'll at least have some more interesting side effects to enjoy.
Oh, BTW: you *did* sacrifice three chickens and a small goat to Lucas, Prince of Darkness, didn't you?
