my mate has an 86 gz... whatever soarer and wheather he is on boost or not depends on how far his foot is down  , but doesnt boost also depend on the rpm, so if clint goode has standard diff ratios etc in an ae 86 he would be doing in excess of 3000 rpm at 110 so therefore i see no problem with a little bit of boost at "cruise" it also depends on how flat his foot is.
