The 1jz has a "low oil" sensor in the sump as well, but I can't remeber what we replaced on the side of the block. I'll have a look tonight but it's hard to see with the intercooler piping and air-con compressor in the way. May well have been the 1jz oil pressure sender for the "check" light that illuminates when you start the car. Come to think of it, it probably was !! You need a right angled brass fitting to tuck the oil pressure sender behind the air-con pump. Made one with some brass fitting from local hydraulic hose shop. Make sure it's well tight though, otherwise it pisses oil out everywhere when you start it up. (like mine did ) And it's a PRICK to change once the motor is in and the air-con pump on. Use loctite on all the threads etc etc. We still have the "check" light working OK though - it's connected to the 7m oil pressure gauge. My filter faces backwards as well, right under the inlet manifold. Pain in the arse to change it, as my hands don't fit under there. [Report message to a moderator]
