What you need to look for is an MTEU and remove all the bits from it. They came out in Soarers and Supras but only in Japan. In the late 80s there was a glut of these motors here in Australia and you could buy them for $195. I recently won an Ebay auction for an MTEU manifold - it cost me a whole $17. If you did go aftermarket ECU, then you could use the guts of a fully electronic ECU (like 7MGE, 1GGE) to set your timing (and you wouldn't have to worry about finding a dizzy that's as rare as hen's teeth). The 4M and 5ME dizzies are just a photo-optical dizzy - good if you hate changing points, but not controlled by the ECU at all. The timing is still altered by weights and vacuum.
