Sat, 18 October 2003 09:52 Honestly, I dont think there will be sufficient oxygen left in the exhaust stream to support combustion. The anti lag systems on the rally cars also requires that the throttle be set open a few degrees above what they consider normal idle. The computer is then programmed to drop ignition off a couple of cyinders. Known as rotating misfire. The extra air and fuel mixture from the unignited cylinders, is then available for the combustion process in the turbo.Typically rally cars drive around 600 to 1200 K's per event.(including transport between stages) Turbos on a budget concious team are replaced every 3rd rally. 3,000 kilometers per turbo.
