sideshow, if you really get stuck i have here the "green book" engine manual for 18R's.
And yes, those notched are sposed to be dead vertical at TDC compression.
I had thought that perhaps the builder had done this on purpose, but then i wondered why would he retard the intake and advance the exhaust??
Have you got ignition timing sorted? I'va had a couple of problems with that and i can tell u how to insert the dizzy at the correct angle if you like..
