You assume correctly, 142kw isn't bad for a normally aspirated car. Although I am planning on a 7mgte conversion, I have the parts but not the time at present.

as for the tvis, I think someone is pulling your leg. the Y pipe is just an air connector between the throttle body and the manifold, as far as I can see it just give some extra length and volume to the manifold, and should theoretically increase bottom end torque.
