deesonet wrote on Sun, 19 October 2003 19:47 | I am converting a 1JZ engine from auto to manual by fitting a complete V160 package.
The clutch plate was very new - almost no wear on the plate at all. When I fitted the pressure plate I think that it doesn't have much pressure onto the clutch plate.
How many millimetres should it compress onto the plate. By my measurements it is only about 0.5mm difference between no pressure and fully bolted up. I would have expected it to be much more.
The manual doesn't give a measurement for the pressure plate to check clearances before fitting.
Any thoughts??

Was this V160 behind a GE or a GTE?
I have my old flywheel/clutch assembly sitting in the shed, I'll take a look at it this evening and get you some measurements to compare against.
