relay.. well its sorta all one unit.
the fan originally stopped working in traffic, and i pulled over when i noticed the temp gauge going unnaturally high. i fixed it by mcguyvering it up direct to the battery but the car wouldnt start because of a blown fuse, i originally thought it was because i was screwing around with wiring (which im not really an expert on.. if you couldnt guess )
i decided to get to the bottom of it and realised the thermoswitch still worked and went to drive it and the fuse blew again when the car slowed to idle, i replaced the fuse (lucky i had 5 lying around) and it blew again, but it doesnt blow when the fans are directly connected to the battery.
It seems to only blow if the car is idling, and it seems to be idling a lot lower now that ive been trying to work this out than before, it idles so low that it stalls on occasion.. might just be that by conincidence the idle screw has loosened magically
im not sure how the ciruit goes, if Rod's around maybe he can answer it because he was there when the engine was put in... its just weird that its having problems now and there was no problems with it earlier.
good idea.. I might chuck a circuit breaker in.. ive only got one 20 amp fuse left and i dont want to get stuck somewhere.
