Yeah, the heads are the same, but the inlet cam (from the forums) is different and has a positive effect on the GTE's.
I'll try Penrith Toyota for the MHG.
Decking the block gets me into full rebuild territory, which adds up to heaps of bucks at the moment. If I can stumble across a spare 7M-GTE engine in Adelaide for the right price, I'll consider doing it then, and only then.

Thanks for that pointer, I'll check it out when I have a look at the head tomorrow. It also depends on how many k's the car has done, and what it appears to be in the yard for - damage or dead engine/box ?
