I've spoken to an engineer on the subject.. he, in a round about way, said I'd need to weld up the seams to pass it is this correct?? I hadn't heard of this before. 
 
and in respect to the question of TOO much power I was visualising enough power to lift the front of the car significantly. But how much power is too much power???
