I have a 400hp engine in my Supra (original power output was approx 120hp on a good day), but my engineer made no mention of seam welding or anything of that sort. I have quite a few friends who have done big HP engine conversions and none of them have been required to do any chassis strengthening either. I can see it being required in extreme circumstances, but a 1G Corona isn't what I'd call extreme.
