ehehe, the problem was the engine ignition was interfering with the music, but not sure if was the reception or cableing it was interfering as i don't have cd player(spose i could try a tape, derr  ). but it worked fine before changing the speakers and from points to electronic ignition @ the same time so i'm not sure what didit, thanks for all the info lads, i'll ahve a go tomorrow before work,
