Bolting an A series bellhousing to a T series gearbox is not that easy to do properly. There are differences in the mounting faces for the two front bearings, and adapters need to be made to do such a job. Personally, I'd use the Sprinter T50 at any rate - they are the strongest T50 you can get and worth the extra money in initial purchase, as you save on machining costs by not having to make the adapters.
The main cases are the same, and rely on a silicon seal along the case body. Disassemble, clean and reseal it, and while you're doing the job, replace the front bellhousing gasket (@ $10), and the output shaft seal too.
