Go the 5MTE. With the parts you already have and some carefully chosen extra bits, you could do a ghetto spec install for 5-600. Buy an MTE manifold, make an adaptor plate to it and bolt the T04 to it. There's $150. Spend another $1-150 building a dizzy that will retard the ignition during boost - this is the most common cause of grief - most people use the std 5M dizzy and wonder why the head gasket blows second after start up. Add a couple hundred extra for piping/silicone hose, dump pipe, oil feed/drain and other bits and pieces. Use the std 5ME ECU. Limit the boost to 6-7 psi if you don't want to intercool it, add some water injection and you should have a healthy power upgrade. If you are interested in higher boost then you should consider an intercooler or decompressing it. At this point you have to ask yourself - I could have put this turbo on a 7MGTE and had a kick ass result for not much more..... Sean (MS75) made ~500 hp out of one with a T04 (and a vast array of other mods). He'll be the first to tell you that there were a multitude of reliability issues (primarily head gasket), but I suspect the Toyota engineers didn't plan for it to have 20+ psi of boost pumped thru it when they designed it back in the early Sixties....
