As a car company employee (senior Manufacturing Engineer), I can confirm that they spend an absolute fortune (compared to what we spend) in making sure that everything works (quality from the suppliers aside) as it is intended. Platinum spark plugs and such like are often used to get out of the warranty period of the vehicle - ever noticed how many things have a service life of about 100,000km which happens to correspiond with the warranty period .... Performance plugs are also in the same vane as Energy Polarisers, Static straps, undercar neons, huge rear wings, fuel consumption improvers (all types), etc.... If these bits were really that good for that price, the car companies would use them in a flash - a classic example is the EFI system developed by Ralph Sarich for 2 strokes (the rest of his stuff was shite) Oh dear.... time to go home [Report message to a moderator]
