My gut reaction is that the 35mm throttle bodies are probably a bit too small. You'd want at least 40, and ideally 45 mm throttle bodies. Maybe see if the 20V 4AGE throttle bodies (beware silver top and black top are different) are of a similar spacing - I was planning this sort of thing for a year's time.
As for the auto, the A340 apparently is quite prone to heating up so a tranny cooler is a must particularly if you want to give it a bit of stick. Can't specifically comment about the beefing up aspect - depends on what you want to do with it.
As for the cams, I think you'll be in for a rude shock. They need to be welded then ground, so as to preserve the base circle. Last time I looked this was a nearly 2K proposition!
