Hi there Graham, I have been contracted to install a rear pan sump 1JZ-GTE into an RA23. I am thinking that a front pan sump, might give me the opportunity to utilize a TA23 x member, and possibibly change the steering to r + p. will investigate!
Another alternative, is my good Toyota parts man whom I have known for 30 years, he has a reliable source of all things Toyota through a wholesale used parts supplier in QLD. The wholesaler does not deal direct wiyh the public Dammit! The last sump conversion cost me about $400.00.
