just letting you guys know that last friday i removed the valve ands connected the front hose from the s/c to the back one and blocked off the inlet pipe. checked it again today and it has used a bit of oil, but not much considering it would use it all in 2 days previously. so ill keep an eye on it regularily for the next couple of weeks and see how it goes, but it looks like its definately made a difference so thanks alot guys 
also took of my intercooler and cleaned it out, had some oil in it, but not as much as i expected
