Erm, NO!
AE71 has a BORG WARNER diff. I know this cos i thought the same until i looked under the car. Having just ripped mine out and reading "BORG WARNER" on the top of it also gave it away.
It's a complete piece of noisy poopy shit. Being an aussie assembled car, the laws back then made Toyota use locally produced shit.
You can direct bolt in an AE86 diff, but i went for the TE72 gearbox diff and tailshaft, which already had the swaybar mounts on it.
