The 911 is intrinsically flawed and 40 years of engineering have nearly sorted out this shortcoming. The engine is located rearward of the rear axle. Effectively, when there is loss of grip at the rear, the engine's position results in it acting like a giant $200000 pendulum. The Porsche 911 is renowned for being rather tail happy, however as the years have gone by, the size and constitution of one's balls required to discover this have become larger and more steely.
