Cressidas, like supras are a very solid car and have very good suspension for their age, with struts at the front and a complex multi link irs setup at the rear. Obviously they are set up soft as they are a luxury car but they are actually well planted, but a bit soggy in stock form.
I just fitted kyb shocks and 30mm lowered king springs to my mx83 a few weeks ago. Together with Bridgestone Potenza g3's on the factory rims it has transformed the car. The ride is firmer, but no worse than my wifes '02 corolla and it handles like a dream. The rear end is tied down really well, due to the multi link irs (in a 14 year old car, and holden try to pass it off as new technology!!)and it is almost impossible to lose the back around a corner (i'm sure a 1jz would fix that, i wish).
I just have to remember its a rear wheel drive and more throttle in a corner is good, unlike all the front drivers i have owned in the past.

All up the suspension cost me a tad over 800 bucks, but I fitted them myself.
I am really happy with the results, I have virtually been able to safely double my speed at the apex of corners, roundabouts while it still feels flat and completely in control.
My cressy is used for family duties so I haven't gone too stiff with the springs. I'm sure it would handle even better with lower springs and harder shocks than mine.
Hope this helps
Binny
