I had 1 and 1 only install from stratties basically bourght a head unit, stacker, Kenwood 6 inch dual mag spilts front, co-axial rear to be wired to an amp already installed in the car.
I specifically asked for custom work to the doors to achieve good imaging/staging and was charged $650 for installation.
Upon recieving the car 6 days later the front and rear speakers were in the factory location and the tweeters were mounted in the corners of the front windscreen. I was assured that the staging was good and the speakers had been tilted up towards the centre of the cabin. They played the radio and showed me how and where they mounted the stacker and how to use it. and I drove home. upon arriving home I loaded up the stacker tuned the radio and headed to Cronulla for a bit of a cruise. get there go to put the windows down... they don't work. power windows weren't reconnected. Went home had a look at the doors and the wiring for the speakers had been put through newly drilled holes just under the plastic pipe where the factory loom goes through with no grommets for protection I wasn't impressed by that. I pulled off the door trims to fix the problem and noticed the speakers had been wired out of phase on the drivers side and the tweeter wasn't connected on the passenger side. Started to think I was ripped off I took the car back down to stratties and showed them the problem. I could keep telling the story but I'll keep it short by saying in the end it turns out that the speakers were installed in the stock locations with no custom work what so ever, one of the tweeters wasn't connected, one of the front speakers and both the rear speakers were wired out of phase, the power window switches weren't reconnected, the head unit that was installed was the wrong unit (one down from the one I ordered) and the speakers were wired to the head unit not the amp as I specified and there was a feed back problem. All this for $650 WOW I'll be back again[/SARCASIM]
In the end the install was fixed and I was charged $180 for the install but I'm sorry that's enough of a reason not to go back.
Since then I've started doing installs with my brother into cars and most of the work is sorting out shorts and feedback form the same store.
I don't mean this as a generalisation as I've seen the work that comes out of the Concord stroe and that is quality work (and if pioneer use them to fitout there demo cars they must be doing somthing right) But the store I went to
