it would be the same anywhere in the car buddy, only the engine bay has higher temperatures. Plus there are new ADR's disallowing the use of fuel cells (surge tanks) in the boot unless completely sealed off.
twas also a turd trying to get all the stuff in the boot to begin with.
Now i have answers!!
Thread tape is bad. Fuel dissolves it apparently. I bought what both Stewart and the Speedflow guys at Seven Hills recommended, which is a Teflon type of "lock tight". It is unaffected by fuel and seals threads good, and is designed for what i need.
I also got a pair of the EFI type hose clamps which have bevelled edges to avoid pinching the hose, and were only $2- each.
P.S. The www.braidedlines.com guy works at Castle Hill Exhaust centre...  Which is where my exhaust was done today!
