You neither lose nor gain torque by changing the mass of the flywheel. As mentioned above the reduction in drivetrain inertia has a small effect on acceleration, but it's usually only noticeable in first and maybe second gear.

As for the original poster, the best way to set up your AE86 for drift is to go to a skidpan day under the supervision of professional instructors and hone your driving skills. No amount of fancy suspension and drivetrain modifications will help you if you don't know how to drive.
