I had the same problem on saturday.
I'm using the factory sensor (different engine though). Its been fine up till now.
And what it was doing was going hot-warm-normal-hot-warm-normal-etc.
Even coasting along idling. Then even coasting along with the engine OFF. hot-warm-normal ...
I think I've got another water temperature sensor somewhere. I'll try that.
Thug: Have you got a spare sensor you could swap and try?
Sideshow: The plug on the sensor, how well does that need to be on? My plug is a 1 wire connector and it kinda sits on, but can be wobbled by hand.
