I have had this on my 4AFC motor. Got worse after a while and car started to stall at irregular intervals. Swapped clusters and sensors and all that stuff but still had problem. I laughed at all the advice to the effect that it was an earthing problem because I thought I had checked them all - but it was. There are a couple of wires coming out of the loom under the carby and attached by a bolt into the driver's side of the inlet manifold. Is hard to see as there is lots of other stuff in the way. Thought I had found all the earths but eventually found this little sucker after advice from the author of a previous thread that I backtracked. Tightened this bolt up and problem went away. If you can't find these wires, there is an earthing wire from the driver's side strut tower to the inlet manifold. Follow that and look near where it is attached to see where the other wires join.
