yeah id say you definitely have a water leak, its probably not dripping though so my be hard to find. Best bet is to get it hot and wiggle things around until you either see it or the steam burns your hand
being on the inlet side it could be heater hose or possibly even the transfer pipe coming out of the back of the water pump
